Description

Original Language: German, automatically translated

The sailing yacht “Lotte” is the prototype of the Dream 38, built according to the model “Helena 38” of the Dutch designer Van de Stadt.

It is identical with the popular FORNA 37, which has been often tested for holiday disruptions, world travels and regattas under extreme conditions. We sailed with her on the Baltic Sea and on the Kattegat in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Design line, keel, rudder and sailing combine the latest trends and technologies with traditional wood construction. If you love boats made of wood and high-quality handmade, you will like Lotte! Both inside and on deck, their teak and mahogany give an elegant character.

The hull is constructed in sandwich construction from cedar wood and epoxy resin (see hull).
It has a spacious interior that invites you to a cozy stay. In the foreboat and in the eighth cabin, the buoys are for two people each, so that one can also take longer sailing trips to four. We mostly sailed them two.

At the rear there is a foldable bathing platform - it can be opened by hand and allows easy access to the water, which is also possible via a foldable bathing ladder.

In the spacious back skis, there is a lot of storage space that allows you to accommodate sailing accessories as well as luggage or folding bikes.

Condition & History of Lotte

The Dream 38 is in a very good condition. The interior is well maintained. Some maintenance work on the outside ship, which regularly arrives, is necessary (e.g. underwater ship, running deck, etc.).

The boat was built in 2003. We bought it for the sailing season 2004. There was no change of ownership.

In handling and care of the boat we have always been very conscientious and very careful. The interior is therefore very good from the state. Technical improvements and repairs made at our sailing times are worth the boat. We always placed great emphasis on optimising the sailing characteristics on the one hand and a good life on board, housing and aesthetics on the other.

Since the purchase of our one-master we sailed the boat annually in the sailing season, including 2020. In the winter half year it stood well protected under a tent roof or covered with a tarpaulin on the trailer on land and was held by us by our own hands (submarine care, running deck care, repairs, technical improvements, accessories renewals, etc.).

Dream 38 has been on the ground since autumn 2020. All the cushions and movable inner parts including the bilge boards are removed and stored protected and dry – as in any winter.

It is a boat for all seas and can also be the faithful companion to the world sailor. We ourselves have been traveling with him mainly in the Scandinavian latitudes, like lying and much ahead of anchor, and are always safely sailed by heavy storms and high wind strengths.

We sailed our yacht for two. Smoking-free, animal-free. Now we want to give them to the hands of the next generation of passionate sailors, who hopefully will spend at least as much joyful as exciting and happy times. The freedom you feel when sailing is known to be incomparable!

Our lotte is also suitable as a mobile home. This possibility has taken us through all times.
